API End User License Agreement

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the escriva.org API (the "API"), you agree to be bound by this End User License Agreement ("EULA"). If you do not agree to all the terms of this EULA, you may not access or use the API.
2. License Grant and Restrictions
Subject to the terms of this EULA, escriva.org grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, and limited license to access and use the API for personal, educational and non-commercial purposes.

2.1 Definition of Licensed Content
The content accessible through the API consists of the copyrighted written works of Saint Josemaría Escrivá, including, but not limited to, books, articles, homilies, and other writings.

- Use the API in a manner that could disable, overburden, or impair the API or interfere with any other party's use of the API.
- Use the API for any unlawful purpose or to violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the API or any content accessible through the API.
- Distribute, sublicense, lease, rent, loan, or resell any content accessed through the API.
- Remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary rights notices contained in or on the API or any content accessible through the API.
- Use automated methods or bots to access the API in a manner that sends more requests to the API than a human could reasonably produce in the same period.
- Modify the content under any circumstances; the content must be displayed as delivered by the API.
- Use the API for commercial purposes unless you have explicit authorization from escriva.org.
2.3 Intellectual Property
The copyrights of the works of Saint Josemaría Escrivá belong to his heirs or whoever holds the rights. This license does not transfer intellectual property to the user.
3. Content Attribution
When displaying content obtained through the API, you must clearly attribute the source with a visible link to escriva.org. For embeds, this attribution is automatically included.
4. Rate Limiting and Fair Use
To maintain the reliability of the API, we reserve the right to implement rate limiting or throttling measures at any time. The use of the API must adhere to the principles of fair use.
5. Modifications to the API or EULA
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the API at any time without notice. We may also update this EULA at any time by posting the updated terms on our website. Your continued use of the API after such changes constitutes acceptance of the modified EULA.
6. Disclaimer of Warranty
THE API IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ESCRIVA.ORG FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ESCRIVA.ORG SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE API, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER SUCH DAMAGES ARE BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT, STATUTE, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY.
8. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the API at any time, with or without cause, and without prior notice or liability. Upon termination, your right to use the API will immediately cease, and you must delete any downloaded content.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This EULA shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain, and any dispute arising hereunder shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Madrid, Spain.
