Make God’s mercy known
Each day, my beloved children, should witness our eagerness to fulfil the divine mission which the Lord, through his mercy, has entrusted to us. Our Lord’s heart is a heart of mercy that feels compassion for men and women and draws near to them. Our dedication to the service of souls is a manifestation of this mercy, not only towards us, but towards the whole of humanity. He has called us to sanctify ourselves in ordinary, daily life and – providentes, non coacte, sed spontanee secundum Deum (1 Pet 5:2); prudently, not under compulsion, but rather spontaneously, according to the will of God – to teach others the way to sanctify themselves within their own state, in the midst of the world.
The Gospel tells us that Jesus saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them (Mark 6:34). My children, the Lord has his eyes and his heart on the multitude, on all people. And we, like Jesus, do so as well; this is the reason for the divine calling we have received.
