Need for good professional reputation

However, let me insist once again, all this work that awaits us in the field of teaching cannot be effective if it is not also supported by a solid professional reputation. Hence the serious obligation of all those who dedicate themselves to this task, to take steps to improve their own knowledge and teaching skills by serious, intense study, by producing carefully prepared, content-rich publications, by participating in local, national and international congresses and meetings, by dedicating themselves, as appropriate, to research, etc.

It will be the duty of the Directors to see to it that this commitment by their brothers and sisters never falters, encouraging them to see the broad perspectives of apostolate that their professional work offers. I dream that there will soon be professionals who have already achieved a high standing, and who, with fraternal affection and a desire to serve, will guide and stimulate this task of professional training, passing on their knowledge and their rich experience in this field to others with true humility, and discovering and training those who have an aptitude for teaching.

Teacher training

As soon as the development of the apostolic work permits, I would like there to be, in all the Regions, one or more special houses where my sons – and the same for the Women’s Section – can prepare for competitive examinations, interviews, etc., for teaching posts; houses that have the necessary atmosphere of study and tranquillity, with suitable facilities for this work, with complete information about public libraries, and whatever can favour this preparation.
