Family atmosphere
Our residences bring together, in a serene Christian family atmosphere of study, young university students who are determined to dedicate themselves seriously to their professional training, and are disposed to improve their human formation and, if they are Christians, their supernatural life.
The family atmosphere is an essential element of the residence, which can never be lacking, and is indispensable for the apostolate. For this reason, it is necessary to take care in the selection of the residents from the first year of its operation. Many of them should be people who are already known through the St Raphael apostolate, which must precede, accompany and follow every corporate apostolic activity with young people. It does not matter if not all the available places are filled at the beginning: as soon as the first group of residents has begun to live our spirit, and our atmosphere has been established, the residence will be filled, and there will not be enough places for all the applications that come in.
For the same reason, in order to preserve the family atmosphere of which I have been speaking, if the residence is very large, it will be necessary to form smaller groups, as if they were different neighbours in the same building; and the very layout of the residence will need to lend itself to this criterion.
