University halls of residence

Among the corporate apostolates of the Work in the field of education – which will be very varied: here too I tell you that it is a sea without shores – there must never be lacking our university halls of residence. These are splendid instruments for the apostolate of doctrine, which we have tried to have from the beginning.

Effectiveness and characteristics

I would like to remind you now, my dear daughters and sons, of some of the characteristics of this important apostolate, in which many of you have been working so fruitfully, filled with love for God and in a spirit of sacrifice. Those of you who have experienced the beginning of this apostolate with me know that it is not an easy task, but you have also had time to see the need for it and to thank God for the apostolic effectiveness of this work. To the others, to each of you, when you have to go through the initial difficulties, I will say with the Apostle: It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops. Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything (2 Tim 2:6-7).
