We do not work as religious do, nor with religious

For the same reason – that is to say, because the work of these religious is ecclesiastical in nature, while ours is secular and professional – ordinarily it will not be appropriate for us to work with religious, and even less so in educational establishments directed by them.

In this way, moreover, we delicately avoid the possibility of pointless misunderstandings – however small – about the appropriateness of following or not following a particular educational method, about the apostolate that teachers can do with their own students, and so on. And, above all, it prevents misguided people from taking us for religious.

Work in state and private educational centres

The places where we will have to practise this teaching profession will be, therefore, state schools and colleges etc., and good-quality private ones that are not directed by religious; rendering loyal service, with a broad outlook, in a spirit of freedom, and always encouraging collaboration with other establishments.

And we will use this professional work to carry out, with the teachers and lecturers, with the students and with their families, that most effective personal apostolate of friendship and trust which our special vocation demands of us.
