Fear of the Directors is a diabolical temptation

Fear of those who guide our soul is the most diabolical temptation. Fear and shame, which stop us from being sincere, are the greatest enemies of our perseverance. We are made of clay, but if we speak, the clay acquires the strength of bronze. Grasp these ideas well, put them into practice, and we will have guaranteed our serenity in God’s service, for it will then be very difficult to unsettle us.

My children, we have come to the Work to be saints in the middle of the world. To achieve this we have to use all the available means. When a sick person goes to see a doctor, if he is asked to take off his clothes for a physical examination and he refuses, or if he is asked what symptoms he has and he doesn’t want to say… where this person needs to go is not to a surgery, but to a lunatic asylum.

We should make it easy for those who have to guide us to know our personal circumstances. We can’t be afraid to be known as we are. Just the contrary: we should rejoice to make our souls transparent. Only by being truly sincere with God, with yourself, and with the people who look after your formation, can you achieve – insofar as it is possible, and with God’s help – perfection as a Christian, perfection as a human being, and perseverance in good works.
