Faithful unto death

My children, all this that we are striving for comes down to being loyal in the little duties of every moment, certain that we are doing something very great. We are fulfilling our obligation as Christians dedicated to serving the Lord in this passing life while we await eternal life. Because all flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever (1 Pet 1:24-25).

Consider too that statutum est hominibus semel mori,²⁹ human beings die just once. Some die in infancy, others, as young people like yourselves, others, in full maturity, and others when they have reached old age. We cannot fritter away time, for it is short. We must be really committed to this business of our sanctification and our apostolic work, which God has entrusted to us. We must spend the time we are given faithfully and loyally, and we must administer well the talents we have received, with a sense of responsibility, to take God’s Work forward.

Faith, purity and vocation

The divine calling demands of us an inviolate, firm, virginal, cheerful and undisputed fidelity to faith, purity and vocation. But the one who endures to the end will be saved (Matt 24:13): faithful to the last moment, and in this way we shall be saints.
