Joy in the struggle

My children, I want you to be happy. I am happy, though I should not be when I look at my poor life. But I am, because I realise that God is seeking us once again, that he is still our Father. And I know that you and I will discover what has to be uprooted in our souls, and we will uproot it decisively: we will see what has to be burned and we will burn it, and what has to be given up and we will give it up.

Help from the Blessed Virgin Mary

My Mother, grant to my children and to me the blessed gift of humility in our struggle, which will make us sincere. Win for us the joy of being fully immersed in God, divinised. Give us the self-sacrificing and supernatural joy of seeing all our pettiness – all the wretchedness and weakness of our poor human nature, with all its frailties and defects – while also being ready to be faithful to God’s grace in order to be an instrument of great things.

Say with me, “Yes, Lord! With the help of our heavenly Mother, we will be faithful, we will be humble, and we will never forget that we have feet of clay, and that everything that shines in us is yours. It is grace, it is the divinisation which you grant us because you want to, because you are good: Confitemini Domino quoniam bonus (Ps 106[105]:1), praise the Lord for he is good.”
