Prudence so as not to fall

Your feet of clay won’t shatter, because you acknowledge how weak they are and you will be prudent, well knowing that only God can say, Which of you convicts me of sin? (John 8:46).

Feeling as useless servants

When night falls I do my examination of conscience, taking stock and adding up the balance. The total is: Pauper servus et humilis! Again and again I say, Cor contritum et humiliatum, Deus, non despicies!²² This is not a false or affected humility. If God sees that we sincerely consider ourselves poor and useless servants, that we are humble and contrite of heart, then he will not spurn us. He will draw us very close to himself, to all the richness and strength of his most lovable Heart. And we will obtain that good divinisation, the divinisation of those who know they have nothing good that does not come from God and that left to themselves they are nothing, they can do nothing, they have nothing.
