Faithfulness, thinking about all souls

There are many souls around us, and we have no right to be an obstacle to their spiritual good. We are obliged to seek Christian perfection, to be saints. We have no right to cheat God, who has chosen each of us specially, nor the souls who expect so much from our apostolate. On the human plane too, our sense of loyalty requires us to set a good example. If we ever have the misfortune to do anything unworthy of a Christian, we must ask God for the grace to repent and set things right.

We must be leaven in the dough of humanity, and for this we need holiness. We have to correct our past failures and, with a humble heart, be ready to practise the virtues in our daily lives. If we live in this way, we will be faithful. What joy, when, in our night-time examination of conscience, we can say, “Lord, I have not thought about myself all day, because the whole time I have been concerned about serving you and about serving others out of Love for you!”
