Human virtues, charity and apostolate

Consequently, regarding the human aspect, we first of all teach the St Raphael girls and boys a deep sense of responsibility. We help them to recognize the serious obligation they have to study or to work, and to sanctify themselves in the fulfilment of this basic duty. We thereby foster in their young hearts the human virtues which are a necessary basis for cultivating the supernatural virtues.

This also teaches them a very characteristic feature of the Work, namely, a readiness to understand others, to forgive, and to live together. This spirit of genuine Christian charity helps them to be fraternal in practical ways, both with one another and with everybody else, and to acquire an effective desire to do apostolate with their friends and companions.
