Financial help from St Raphael people

It is only just, as I have already said, that the boys or girls feel called upon to contribute financially to the support of the house insofar as they can. It is the instrument that enables the formative work to take place, of which they are the primary beneficiaries, and it requires a considerable effort by us.

Often it is very instructive to give precisely the most troublesome and unruly fellows the job of looking for financial help or other specific tasks. These little obligations tend to give them a sense of discipline. In responding to them, they notably improve their character, wanting to show that they deserve the confidence that has been placed in them.

Financial needs of all the Centres

My dear sons and daughters, we are poor and always will be. As I have told you before, the centres where we work with young people are born with a congenital defect, which consists in the absence of financial means. Joined to this is the need for a dignified oratory, for an Administration set up in such a way that it can work well, and the use of premises for an activity that is not financially solvent: the St Raphael work.

Therefore we need help, because we cannot manage on our own. And the young people respond, by contributing to the traditional collections we take up among them, or by discreetly leaving an alms, the fruit of their spirit of sacrifice, and in a thousand other ways.
