Cooperation of the parents

As I said earlier, the contribution made by the boys or girls will often be quickly seconded by their parents. When they realise how much good we are doing for their children, they cooperate generously. They give presents of furniture for setting up the house, or they help purchase it. In the case of clubs for younger fellows, they themselves and their families should be the ones to provide the premises where they meet and everything needed to run the various activities.

Although due to their straitened financial circumstances, it may sometimes not be possible for people to make a very large contribution, it is always a first step for the mothers, fathers, and siblings to come closer to the Work, and for all of them to then benefit from the supernatural influence of Opus Dei. Through their cooperation God will move them to become our friends – and in some cases even our brothers or sisters. They cooperate actively, for example, by buying shares in the properties we set up in order to be able to rent them to us; we pay what is reasonable and then have the premises as our means of apostolate.
