Responsible cooperation from select residents
I was saying that the St Raphael work has to precede and accompany any corporate undertaking. In that way we can ensure, from the start, that the atmosphere is truly ours. In the case of residences, the St Raphael work will provide a nucleus of well-chosen residents, who will help to set the tone of the house and of the work which is to be done in the residence and from the residence.
These residents, who are more select than the others, feel as if they are in their own home. They use their freedom responsibly, they keep the regulations (the family timetable) carefully, and they help to create a climate which is fraternal, industrious and cheerful.
If we deal with them individually, one by one, and let them see that we are interested in their studies, in their health, in their little concerns, and that we share their joys and their sorrows, they will almost always respond generously. You will do a great good to their souls and to the others living in the house.
