Giving doctrine
We have spoken about service. The best service we can render the Church and humanity is to give doctrine. Many of the evils afflicting the world are due to a lack of Christian doctrine, even among those who want (or give the impression of wanting) to follow Christ closely. There are some people who, instead of giving sound doctrine, take advantage of the ignorance of others to spread confusion, to the point that even the existence of the natural law imprinted by God on each soul is denied. Thus the environment of the world is filled with religious indifference, which in reality is simply ignorance or presumption. It is not Satan’s non serviam, but the most absolute lack of light.
Science and Faith
There are people who pretend to be wise and they claim that religion and science are mutually incompatible and that there is an abyss between the two that cannot be bridged. This is the ascendency of materialism in all its forms. But any pious person knows how to bridge or fill this abyss. We children of God in his Work, with our Lord’s grace and with study, should try to make this opposition disappear. And so, with our profane science united to our knowledge of theology and to the example of our life, we will make an apology for the faith.
