Need for political pluralism
This is the upright, clear reason why my children will always have different views – it is right and good that they do – about the most appropriate means in any specific circumstances for attaining the common good of the society where they live.
They will pull the cart in the same direction, that is, toward God and toward the common good of everyone. But they will do so with very different outlooks, with very different and even opposing opinions in temporal, debatable issues. In this way they will not compromise the Church nor will they compromise the Work.
Despite all of this, there are some people, including many with whom I have spoken, who seem not to want to understand these ideas, even though they are so clear. Let us be patient; let us allow time to pass; let us ask God to give them light, and they will come to understand.
