The Work in the Church

Everything that is or seems to be new, whether it is a matter of doctrine or of the way it is communicated to people and put into practice, must, at least apparently, open up a new path. This is so, even if what it teaches or what it does corresponds completely to true Christian knowledge and tradition.

That is why I need to tell you once again that the Work has not come to innovate anything in the Church, much less reform anything. Regarding the faith and the morals of Jesus Christ, it faithfully accepts whatever the Church teaches to be true. We do not wish to be freed from the (holy) restraint of the common discipline of Christians. On the contrary, by God’s grace – and may He pardon this apparent lack of humility – we want to be the best sons and daughters of the Church and the Pope.

Love for freedom

To achieve this goal, we have to love freedom. You must avoid an abuse which seems to be aggravated in our time: to create dogmas out of temporal doctrines. This abuse is evident and appears in countries all over the world. It reveals a desire, contrary to the lawful independence of men, to force everyone to form a single group in matters open to debate. And then, through schemes and propaganda that are truly scandalous, the adherents of this abuse try to defend their false criterion against anyone who has the nobility not to submit to it.
