The Lord will crystalise the Work’s juridical form

Be faithful, and help me to be faithful. Help me to know how to wait: without haste, because at the right moment the Lord, who has willed his Work, will bring to fruition the canonical form that at this time has not been identified. With this form the Holy Church will be able to recognise our divine way of serving her in the world: in the middle of the street, with clean water and fresh air, without any privileges, keeping the essence of our vocation without being religious, since the Lord does not want us to be religious.

Pray

Pray, pray a lot. Don’t forget that prayer is omnipotent. Remember that Jesus said: quodcumque petieritis Patrem in nomine meo, hoc faciam (John 14:13); whatever you ask in my name, this I will do. And that qui coepit in vobis opus bonum, perficiet (Phil 1:6); he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion. I have explained to you the very supernatural reasons that lead me to pray with faith and to wait, instead of looking for an official ecclesiastical approval right now. That would certainly risk distorting our divine vocation and confusing it with the vocation of the religious. I cannot allow this, for God will ask me to render an account. I am certain, as well, that you would desert en masse, and in this you would do well, because you could not accept that your consciences be violated as children of God in the Work of God.

Opus Dei will fulfil its mission

Be absolutely convinced, therefore, that the Work will always fulfil its divine mission effectively, and that it will always respond to the purpose for which the Lord has wanted it on earth. With divine grace it will remain for all ages a marvellous instrument to give glory to God: sit gloria Domini in saeculum! (Ps 104[103]:31), may the glory of the Lord endure for ever.
