We are all useful in the Church

We are all, then, useful in the Church: necessary, I would say. We all have a single mission to fulfil – to serve and to work apostolically – and it is clear that in the light of this community of aims, there are no tasks or charisms of greater or lesser importance: each one’s position will be high or low, in accordance only to one’s fidelity to God’s grace and uprightness of intention in carrying it out.

That is why he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ (Eph 4:11-13).
