It forgets the mission of service

Such a mentality also forgets that all those who work for Christ should have a spirit of service, and regards positions not as burdens but as perks to be used for one’s own benefit, or as privileges excusing from all obligation, or as a personal patrimony to be managed at the owner’s whim.

Such a course of action would not be justified even when it is intended to abuse one’s authority for the benefit of a particular apostolic movement or a particular work for souls. For there is no room for whims or favouritism in what belongs to all the children of the Church, since what has been received intuitu ministri Dei, as a labourer for God, has been received intuitu gregis seu populi Dei, that is, for the benefit of all the faithful.
