Misunderstandings regarding our task of service

Don’t be surprised, however, to find people who regard as a kind of ambition your eagerness to work for God in all positions of society – those to which you are entitled, either by your profession or trade, or by your condition as citizens – or who react as if offended by your service.

Don’t get annoyed – I say this with a harmless metaphor which has displeased some people who seem to be barking – and waste time throwing stones at the dogs that bark at you on the way, and, without ostentation or spectacle, continue setting your goals, the noble means, the concrete aims which help you to proceed confidently and supernaturally, placing all earthly activities at the feet of Christ.
