In wartime
The good of the Church demands – and this a real duty – that things of this kind be avoided, where servants of God were slaughtered, as they were some seven or eight years ago, when they assassinated many thousands of priests and ordinary faithful, and destroyed churches and religious houses.
They also destroyed the houses in which our apostolates were carried out, but since the names of my sons did not appear in the documents of the episcopal Curia, they were only able to persecute me. And almost all of those who were with me were able to continue working for the good of souls, passing unnoticed in that chaotic situation.
