No arbitrariness or privileges

If the desire for service is replaced by a false love for the Church, then arbitrariness and privilege also reign, and the healthy atmosphere that always exists when one works in the presence of God is rarefied and clouded. It is logical, absurdly logical, that, as a consequence, those who only want to serve will not be regarded favourably or be understood.

I now copy, without further ado, what St John had to write: I have written something to the church: but Diotrephes, who likes to put himself first, does not acknowledge our authority. So if I come, I will bring up what he is doing, talking wicked nonsense against us. And not content with that, he refuses to welcome the brothers, and also stops those who want to and puts them out of the church (3 John 9-10).
