Chosen from all eternity
We have the joy of knowing that God has chosen us from all eternity – redemi te et vocavi te nomine tuo: meus es tu (Is 43:1); I have redeemed you and called you by name: you are mine – and has brought us into this great family of Opus Dei, whose pride is to serve: to serve all souls and, above all, to serve the Church, One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic and Roman; to serve the Supreme Pontiff, with unconditional love. Faithful to Jesus Christ, docile to the Magisterium of the Church, pray and work to extend the kingdom of God.
Love for vocation: to be of use, be saints
My dearest daughters and sons, think about all the things Our Lord, the Church and all mankind expect of Opus Dei, which is still just a tiny seed hidden in the furrow. Consider how wonderful your vocation is, and love it more and more every day. Resolve to be the instrument Our Lord needs, optimistic, cheerful, and with supernatural outlook.
On you go, my children: Jesus and the Church expect a lot of you. But keep one thing very clear in your mind and in your heart: we will get nowhere if we are not saints.
