Not giving superfluous information

In a word, I think that the competent authority should be provided with the statistical data which is deemed appropriate. But – at least as regards Opus Dei – it seems dangerous to me, although defending, as we always do, the rights of the bishops who may publish national or diocesan statistics with superfluous data, or who may keep this data in the diocesan archives.

What the Ordinary knows about each religious

Generally speaking, the Reverend Ordinaries know the names of the religious Superiors and their domiciles, and, when the religious are clerics, the names and domiciles of the priests who have ministerial faculties in the diocese. In the case of associations of the faithful – as in ours – they know the domiciles of the associations and the names of the directors.
