Abuse of information

For the good of the Church we have to pray that these unjust discriminations come to an end: at least, that everybody should treat us like other citizens, our equals, because, like them, we pay our taxes, do military service and do not seek any privileges that our colleagues do not have.

The calumny of secrecy must be erased

We must try to erase the calumny of secrecy which they are trying to cast upon Opus Dei: there is no shortage of people who dare to call the Work a freemasonry. A great mistake, because we have nothing to learn from the Lord’s enemies, in order to serve Christ, His Church and His Vicar.

The members of the Work are ordinary Christians

Perhaps what worries them is what the unorganised organisation of our apostolate offers. They realise that this abusive publicity would hinder the work of many of my children who, were they to be known officially as members of Opus Dei or as responsible Catholics, would be rendered incapable of carrying out their activity in very many environments where they are called to serve the Church: universities, trade unions, workers, finance or politics.
