The pathway for all Catholics is to serve others

This is the way followed by the Pope, the sweet Christ on earth, the Vice-God, as I like to call him, who says of himself that he is servus servorum Dei, the servant of the servants of God. And if the Supreme Pontiff is a servant, my daughters and sons, it is inconceivable that there be Catholics who don’t want to be so. There is one Lord, and one Master of the Church, our Lord Jesus Christ, Our God, who, besides having created us, has bought us at the price of his Blood, quam acquisivit sanguine suo (Acts 20:28). For this reason, it is enchanting and just, that the people of some countries in America, referring to Jesus, call him the Boss.

Other than Our Lord, there is nobody on earth who could be owner of souls: we all come to serve them. And this is what he has called us to do when he enriched us with the marvellous gift of faith and when he wanted us to be in his Work: sic nos existimet homo ut ministros Christi et dispensatores mysteriorum Dei (1 Cor 4:1). That is how men are to regard us: as ministers of Christ and dispensers of the mysteries of God.
