Speaking the truth to those in charge

People who do not walk the path of truth are uneasy when someone tries to enlighten them, even as the martyr and the saint make the lukewarm uneasy, while the fervent are enkindled even more. But the Church needs the love of her children who – truly detached from themselves, with their gaze fixed on supernatural goals – are ready to say everything that they clearly see must be said, after considering it in God’s presence.

It must be done with the conviction that this is the only way to really help the one who leads, the one who serves, the one who holds the reins. It must also be done in the knowledge that the Good Shepherd cannot be afraid to confront the scabies of the sheep, even if this brings with it toil and complications, which will always be holy.

Knowing how to keep quiet

And when it is not possible to speak, either because it is not appropriate or because you have been advised in this sense by the competent authority, you have to keep silent, offering your pain and suffering to God: with faith in providence, you will thus once again come to realise that to serve is to work with your eyes always fixed on heaven.
